Bio - RollingHillsImagery

Welcome to the landing spot for Rolling Hills Imagery. I'm originally from SW Kansas but currently reside in the small town of Ardmore, OK after an 11 year stint in Amarillo, TX. That's right, the home of the Big Texan and the free 72oz. steak! I'm educated as a biochemist and worked in the agricultural laboratory world for 19 years before moving on to Michelin NA, but in the last few years I have been finding time to explore the world of photography again. I used to shoot a lot of film, especially B&W, when I was younger as my Grandfather had a darkroom where he taught me developing techniques. Nearly 25 years later I finally took the plunge and bought a DSLR after not shooting all that time. After entering some prints in the Texas Tri-State fair over several years and winning some awards (I placed 2nd the first year with the 5th photo I ever took with that new camera as well as some other 1st and 2nd place awards), I was hooked. Currently I'm making a shift back to using more film and getting away from digital. Going hand in hand with that I'm also going to knuckle down on my technique to hopefully get some of those "wow" photos! So keep checking back often as I continue on this journey.
